This year’s holy month of Ramadan brings 1001 meaning to second year student of Bachelor of Public Management, Ms. Noor Asniza Abd Razak and her family when their desire to own a new home is finally realised.
The ancestral home in which Ms. Noor Asniza once lived with her family in Kampung Raja, Jeram, Jitra for more than 10 years, was destroyed in a fire in February of last year.
In conjunction with the celebration of the holy month of Ramadan Al-Mubarak, Â鶹ֱ²¥ (UUM) through the UUM Alumni Association (PAUUM) in collaboration with the Building Academy of Malaysia (ABM) Northern Region rebuilt a new home for them.

"UUM is not just an institution of higher learning that provides a platform for students to gain a degree but it also intends to get closer to the village community, so we have launched 1 Faculty 1 District with the aim of reaching out to the local community because without society, there will not be a university," he said at the handing over of the keys to the new house ceremony recently..

In addition, he said, PAUUM also responded to the Minister of Education's recommendation that alumni must always play an important role in developing universities and schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.
"I am grateful to the Northern Territory ABM and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia as well as various parties including the locals because without the help of these agencies, this kind of initiative is unlikely to be completed earlier," he said.
While Ms. Noor Asniza expressed her heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to UUM for being concerned and rebuilding her home which burnt down two months ago.
