Action Plan Set To Assist The State Of Kedah Darul Aman
Deputy Finance Minister, YB Dato' Ir Amiruddin Hamzah and UUM Lecturers discussed action plans to assist the state of Kedah. The meeting was held at the Institute of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad Thoughts (IPDM), Convention Complex, UUM, recently.
"This meeting was a follow-up to the brainstorming dialogue session held on 17 March 2019 in addition to leveraging the expertise available at UUM with attendees witnessing four presentations.
"If there is a good idea that can be implemented to enhance the development of Kedah, particularly in the district of Kubang Pasu, it is very much welcomed. Hopefully, this session will prove fruitful with the generation of excellent ideas,鈥� he said at the brainstorming dialogue session with Dato 'Ir Amiruddin Hamzah.
He expressed hope that the programme organised by IPDM would enable to garner ideas and inputs that will eventually form a comprehensive action plan to assist the sustainability of the Kubang Pasu district and the Kedah state government.
Meanwhile, the first presenter, Assoc. Prof Dr S.Chandrakantan presented a proposal focusing on the B40 entrepreneurs in Kubang Pasu district. It was proposed that training and guidance in both theory and practice be given to participants in order for them to be afforded better job opportunities.
He expressed CEDI's intention to work with the Kedah state government in terms of entrepreneurial development in Kedah.
"CEDI has the expertise and is ready to assist in the preparation of the Kedah State Entrepreneurship Development Plans. We at CEDI also suggest that a database of entrepreneurs for Kedah be created for the ease of access to entrepreneurial data," said Dr. S.Chandrakantan who is the Director of the Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI).
The Dean of the School of Multimedia Technology and Communication, Assoc. Prof Dr Mohd Sobhi Ishak; Director of the University Teaching and Learning Centre, Assoc. Prof Dr Muhamad Shahbani Abu Bakar and Lecturer from the School of Government, Mr Mohd Syahril Said were among the other presenters present at the meeting.
Also present were YB Halimaton Shaadiah Saad, UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani and Director of IPDM, Prof Dr Zakaria Abas.
