Â鶹ֱ²¥ (UUM) has received sponsorship worth MYR28,000 from OPTOM Resources in conjunction with the UUM Sports Championship (SUKUUM) 2019 which will take place on 15 March.

The sponsorship in the form of goods was presented by Chief Executive Officer of OPTOM Resources, Mr. Firdaus Abdul Razak to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani at the Visitors’ Lounge recently.

Mr. Firdaus said the sponsorship also included eyeglasses, promotions and attire for VIP guests, officials and winners of SUKUUM.

According to him, the selection of the UUM Sports Centre as recipient of the sponsorship was in conjunction with the opening of the first OPTOM optical shop in Kedah in April.

"Throughout SUKUUM, OPTOM hopes to promote OPTOM Sport products to UUM in line with the championship.

"At the same time, I am targeting the opening of 100 OPTOM outlets throughout the country and will provide opportunities for entrepreneurs at universities who would like to start a business to get involved," he said.

He also handed over sponsorship trophies to the Vice-Chancellor that afternoon.
