Foundation Students Urged To Be Highly Committed In Order To Become Students Of High Calibre
Students of the Foundation Studies in Management Programme 2019/2020 academic session were reminded to give their highest commitment throughout the duration of their foundation studies at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM).
Assistant Vice-Chancellor of COLGIS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fuad Othman said that during the three semesters, students must undergo and pass all 18 courses.
According to him, the combination of the 18 courses offered was to produce undergraduates of high quality in the intellectual aspect especially in their ability to make accurate and critical analysis, be receptive to current developments and be knowledgeable.
"Foundation students are regarded as the elite group of students in UUM who will be the feeder to the 41 undergraduate programmes in UUM.
"In this regard, students who have been selected to join the Foundation Studies in Management Programme in UUM should be grateful and take advantage of the opportunity given," he said when delivering the Vice-Chancellor's speech at the Oath Taking Ceremony for the new foundation students enrolled into the Foundation Studies in Management Programme 2019/2020 academic session at Seminar Hall A, Convention Centre.
Dr. Muhammad Fuad also urged that students also strive to improve their English proficiency and hope that all the students in the 6th Cohort will obtain Band 4 and above for their MUET.
Additionally, he also reminded the students to comply with the rules and regulations such as dress code, examination rules and disciplinary rules set by the Student Residential Halls (INASIS) to avoid from committing any offense that may lead to disciplinary punishments as well as expulsion from the university.
The taking of the oath was led by student representative, Mr. Mohamad Eqmal Rahman Sedek in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Fuad and senior UUM officials.
