INTERNALIZE THE PHILOSOPHY OF KNOWLEDGE EMBEDDED IN LIFELONG LEARNING

Graduates of the UUM Distance Learning programme were reminded to continue to thrive to internalize the philosophy of knowledge embedded in lifelong learning.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof Dr Yusnidah Ibrahim said that the degree earned was a turning point to further succeed and that after completing studies at UUM did not mean for graduates to cease to contribute energy and ideas to the institutions or agencies they represent as well as the country.

"UUM through the Professional and Continuing Education Centre (PACE) as a platform to realize the nation's desire for a lifelong learning agenda has been able to produce many quality graduates.

"As a result of this success, it is time for the alumni of the UUM Distance Learning (UUM PJJ) programme produced by PACE to give back to their alma mater," said she who represented the Vice-Chancellor at the UUM PJJ Programme Graduation Dinner at EDC Hotels & Resorts recently.

She also called on the graduates of the PJJ Programme to devote their time, energy and ideas to contribute back to UUM in whatever form based on their capacity and hope that all donations will become charity that will last forever.

Meanwhile, Director of PACE, Assoc. Prof Dr Halim Mad Lazim said, to date, PACE had produced more than 8,000 PJJ undergraduates in various fields since its inception in 1996, besides producing many successful alumni in their respective fields.

He also expressed hope that the graduates of the PJJ programme could apply all the skills, experience and knowledge acquired during the course of their studies into all aspects of their lives and that they would be able to excel and build a better career in the future.

Also present were the Pro-Chancellor, Tun Dato' Seri (Dr.) Ahmad Fairuz Dato' Sheikh Abdul Halim and his wife, Datin Seri Mazni Mohamed Noor and Kedah State Assemblyman Mdm. Halimaton Shaadiah Saad.
