IPQ SECURES AQEC 2020 GOLD RATING
UUM ONLINE: The Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) has successfully obtained the Gold Rating at the Annual Quality Environment Challenge (AQEC) 2020 organised by Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) which was announced online via GoToWebinar, recently.
Director of IPQ, Prof. Dr. Sany Sanuri Mohd. Mokhtar expressed hope that the achievement would become a catalyst for other departments in UUM to be vigorous in their implementation and cultivation of 5S Practices.
According to him, the success qualified UUM IPQ to take part in a competition at the national level Mini Convention on Team Excellence (MTEx) 2020.
According to Prof. Dr. Sany Sanuri Mohd. Mokhtar by participating in the AQEC 2020 competition, he hoped that it would bring about positive impacts and spur other departments to achieve far greater achievements.
"By maintaining the Quality Environmental Practice (QE / 5S) Certification from 2015 until 2019, it has enabled IPQ to participate in the AQEC 2020 competition," he said, who is also the Patron of the IPQ 5S Committee.
AQEC 2020 is the first program organised by MPC to provide a platform for organisations participating in MPC QE / 5S Certification to present and share Best Practices of QE / 5S Implementation in their respective organisations.
A total of 17 organisations comprising both public and private sectors participated in the competition which had two sessions, namely 5S Practice Video Preparation and question and answer (Q&A) session.
There are seven (7) criteria assessed in the AQEC 2020 programme, namely Introduction, Selection and Definition of Project, Analysis of Improvement Opportunity, Creative and Innovative Recommendations as well as Implementation, Monitoring and Standardization, Achievement and Generation of Values as well as Presentation.
The competition evaluation was led by Mr. Izani Ishak and three jurors from the MPC.
Through the AQEC 2020 competition, the MPC informed that a total of MYR5.3 million in saving cost was successfully recorded by all organisations that took part in the programme simply through the implementation of 5S Practices in their respective organisations.
