KMEK Establishes Closer Ties With UUM
To further strengthen the close relationship between Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) and media practitioners in the state, the Vice-Chancellor received a courtesy visit from Kedah Elite Media Club (KMEK) at the Visitors’ Lounge recently.
In the almost one hour meeting, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani was briefed on the establishment of KMEK, its role and function of the Club by its President, Mr. Kumaran Rajamoney.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir said he was pleased that KMEK chose him as the Club Advisor and he also expressed his readiness to assist the Club in providing advisory services.
He also expressed hope that media practitioners in Kedah could help UUM further elevate the name of the university in various fields, apart from providing services and contributing to community development.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kumaran, a fellow journalist from TV3, also expressed the wishes of the Club to make UUM a strategic partner and establish closer ties that will benefit both parties.
According to him, KMEK and UUM have long been working together and helping each other improve the name and image of the university as the UUM Vice-Chancellor has been the Club Advisor since the establishment of KMEK 2011.
Also present were Club Secretary, Ms. Roshila Murni Rosli and committee member, Mr.Eric Tan.
