KPM-Celcom Siswapreneur @Google Bootcamp Provides Digital Marketing Exposure

KPM CELCOM SISWAPRENEUR GOOGLE BOOTCAMP PROVIDES DIGITAL MARKETING EXPOSURE

Kuala Lumpur - Five Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) students had the opportunity to take part in the KPM-Celcom Siswapreneur @Google Bootcamp 2019 programme at UTM KL Residency.

The students involved were Ms. Nur Shahirah Abd Rashid, Ms. Siti Sarah Anum Hashim, Ms. Elmira Amirah Mohd Suhimi, Ms. Nazifah Hanom Abdul Rahman and Mr Muhendran A / L Chandra. They were accompanied by two lecturers, Dr. Siti Noratisah Mohd Nafi and Dr. Munirah Khamarudin.

The two-day programme which was jointly organised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), Celcom Axiata Berhad and Google involved 250 students from a total of 35 institutions of higher learning comprising public and private universities, polytechnics and community colleges from around the country.

Director of the Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI), Assoc. Prof Dr Chandrakantan Subramaniam said the opportunity to participate in the programme was in tandem with the direction of CEDI which was aimed at expanding and strengthening online business ventures initiated by and among UUM students.

He said throughout the duration of the programme, students were exposed to basic business training modules, the basics of digital marketing, online tools and social media strategies using various Google applications.

He said the programme proved to be very useful to all participants in general and UUM students in particular since most of the UUM students involved in the programme are owners of their own online businesses.

"The programme that affords participants with the golden opportunity is a continuation of the KPM-Celcom Siswapreneur programme that has been going on since 2016," he said.

The opening ceremony of the programme was officiated by the Minister of Education, Dr Maszlee Malik. Accompanying him were Chief Strategy cum Value Creation Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad, Mr Munif Kamaruddin and Head of Public Policy of Google, Mr Nick Bauer.
