Latest Innovations In Teaching And Learning Showcased At PIP2019
Featuring a total of 291 products, the International Learning Innovation Competition (PIP2019) unveiled the latest innovations in teaching and learning at Mu'adzam Shah Hall, UUM, recently.
Member of the Advisory Committee, University Teaching and Learning Centre (UTLC), Prof Dr Rosna Awang Hashim said the innovative products were the result of ideas and creativity involving a total of 1,250 participants from various primary and secondary schools, matriculation colleges, community colleges, polytechnics and institutions of higher education.
According to her, as a competition cum exhibition entering its fourth year, PIP2019 afforded participants with the opportunity to gather and share views and opinions on matters regarding innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
"It gives me great pleasure to know that over 300 exhibitors have taken part in this two-day event and thrilled to know that the Academic Leadership for Young Scholars Forum (ALeYS) also took place at this juncture, PIP2019 is indeed an excellent platform to learn about the latest innovations in teaching and learning," she said at the PIP2019 Closing Ceremony.
She further reiterated that in order to provide quality and innovative education, integrated efforts from all stakeholders were essential. In Malaysia, collaboration among those in schools, professional associations, teachers, universities, Industry and society was very much in sync.
“Tomorrow's learning has been put on display today and this event is for the sharing and integrating innovative ideas to enable all of us to become one of the change agents forging ahead into the future.
"My heartiest congratulations to all the winners and the organising committee of PIP2019 for the successful organisation of the event that have enabled the exploration of educational trends and the establishment of networks," she said.
Meanwhile, the Director of UTLC, Assoc. Prof Dr Muhamad Shahbani Abu Bakar was pleased to see the vigour and cooperation of all those who worked hard and competed against each other throughout the two-day event.
“PIP2019 is an annual event organised by UTLC that provides a platform for academic staff and students to share best practices, highlight innovation and creativity in teaching and learning and recognize their efforts in the innovation culture while supporting the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) agenda.
"For those who have not achieved the desired results, do not despair. Continue to work harder and prepare for the next PIP," he said.
