Students Need To Seize Opportunity To Gain Experience While At The University

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) students were reminded to take advantage of the time they spent at the university by gaining new experience before heading out into the working world.
Adjunct Professor Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Mahathir said being in the university was the perfect opportunity to learn new skills and learn from others.
He said that with the knowledge they possessed, it would then enable to assist the students in their respective field of employment, however, Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Mahathir expressed hopes that Malay students should rid themselves of shyness if they want to succeed.
"Make sure all of you are constantly motivated to do what you love and have the confidence to showcase your abilities wherever you are.
"At the same time, learn a foreign language and culture while abroad. Most important is learning from adversity because if one has never experienced failure or hardship, he will not appreciate the happiness or success he has," said him at the Talk by Adjunct Professor entitled 'Winning Not Just In Malaysia, But Also Succeeding Overseas', organised by the School of International Studies (SOIS) at the SOIS Auditorium recently.
In the lecture, he also shared his experiences as a businessman and tips for attracting customers. He also spoke of the failure he experienced before finally succeeding to what he is now as well as answering questions posed by the students.
Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Mahathir who is also serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Motorcycle Association of Malaysia also presented nine outstanding students with their respective certificates of the Dean's List. The Adjunct Professor also officiated the SOIS Contributor Wall Frame before taking a tour around the campus and later stopping at the Varsity Mall.
At the same ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Dr Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani presented the General Manager of Kencana Capital, Mr Izhar Moslim with a Letter of Appointment , appointing him as a member of the Advisory Committee (Industry) for the Strengthening of the AACSB Accreditation for the International Business Field, SOIS that came into effect from September 2019 to September 2021.
