UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani officiated a book presentation ceremony.  The book written by Tan Sri Prof Lin See-Yan entitled, Turbulence in Trying Times: What are we to do?, was presented to Dean and Directors at the Senate Meeting Room, recently.

The book signed by the country's prominent figure in economics addresses the root causes of the deterioration of the world economy and the urgent need for the reconstruction of the economy structure was a personal gift to the Vice-Chancellor.

The Vice-Chancellor said the book served as a credible source of guidance in a turbulent world that is struggling with ongoing political problems and economic injustices in various countries that have triggered war, terrorism, forced migration and human sufferings on a large scale.

"The smart and informative economic analysis in this book will benefit readers from its high values. Hopefully the valuable knowledge and experience shared by Prof Lin See-Yan in this book will be internalized and appreciated and used as guidance by all of us, especially in facing challenges," said the Vice-Chancellor after the recent Morning Prayer meeting.

Tan Sri Prof Lin See-Yan is a Harvard-educated economist, a British Chartered Scientist, and the first Malaysian to become a United Kingdom Chartered Statistician.

He holds three postgraduate degrees from Harvard University, including a PhD in Economics.
