TWO YOUNG LECTURERS SHARE TIPS ON COMPLETING PhD WITHIN 3 YEARS
UUM ONLINE: Despite the anguish, both enthusiasm and patience enabled two young UUM lecturers to successfully complete their PhD within two years.
The success of the two senior lecturers from the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA), Dr. Saidatul Nurul Hidayah Jannatun Naim Nor Ahmad and Dr. Nor Atikah Shafai, made them eligible recipients of the Prize of Excellence (GOT) worth MYR10,000. The prize was presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani at the Senate Room recently.
Dr. Saidatul said it was difficult to complete a PhD in such a short time, but she placed priorities ahead of the hardships, besides sacrificing money, time and energy.
According to her, she was thrilled to be able to complete her studies quickly after having to go through the challenges and difficulties that had made her stronger and more matured.
"Praise be to Allah, I am grateful to the Almighty Allah for this success. I never thought that Allah would ease the journey I took to pursue knowledge.
She urged those who intended to pursue higher education not to postpone the intentions and try to finish it as soon as possible with steadfast dedication and effort.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nor Atikah expressed her elation for being honoured by UUM with an unexpected acknowledgement.
"I hope to be a good lecturer and further develop my career in the future as I go about educating the nation and contribute to our beloved country," she said.
She also reminded young students to be consistent in their studies, besides wisely selecting supervisors who would greatly help guide them throughout the course of their studies.
