UECSB CONTRIBUTES MYR300,000 TO UUM RESEARCH AGENDA
UUM ONLINE: To encourage research activities amongst researchers at the University, Uniutama Education and Consultancy Sdn Bhd (UECSB) presented Â鶹ֱ²¥ (UUM) with a Research Grant contribution amounting MYR300,000.
The said contribution was presented by the Chief Executive Officer of the Uniutama Management Holdings Group Sdn. Bhd. (UMHSB),Mr Rodzi Lebai Karim to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani at the Vice-Chancellor's Meeting Room recently.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the current volatile global economic situation had made it difficult for universities to secure funding either from within or outside the country to successfully carry out their research agendas.
As such he thanked UECSB for channelling the research grant contribution which would allow researchers at the University to carry out their research activities.
He said the research agenda at universities remained important despite the constraints to raise funds. He expressed hope that UECSB would continue to make such contributions in the future.
"In fact, I also noticed that the amount contributed increases every year. As a subsidiary, UECSB should assist the university in any aspect it can so that the University can continue to survive in the long term. That is the real purpose of establishing a subsidiary.
"In addition, as UUM’s subsidiary, UECSB should strengthen the university brand as well as the company itself by streamlining the branding agenda. In doing so, the UUM brand can be widely known, especially among the industry," he said.
The Vice Chancellor also expressed hope that the university including its subsidiaries would remain strong during the pandemic and called on them to generate income to further assist the University.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of UMHSB Group said UECSB's performance showed a consistent improvement from year to year due to the constant hard work and long hours put in by the staff of UECSB particularly during the time of the pandemic.
Mr Rodzi Lebai Karim too expressed his gratitude and appreciation to UUM for helping the company in its efforts to generate income.
