UUM Archery Team Clinched Gold At The 2019 Malaysian Institution Of Higher Learning Archery Invitational Competition
Â鶹ֱ²¥ (UUM) archery team clinched four gold medals at the 2019 Malaysian Public and Private Institution of Higher Learning Archery Invitational Competition organised by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Co-Curriculum Club held at the UPM Archery Shooting Range, UPM Sports Complex recently.
The Director of UUM Co-curriculum Centre, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hussin Abdullah said the Co-Curriculum Centre sent 16 archery athletes comprising nine men and seven women and Mr. Mohd Shubanthirio Mohd Suhaimi, the coach to the said competition.
According to him, at the two-day competition, not only did UUM win four gold medals, the athletes also managed to win three silver medals and three bronze medals.
"For the women's 15 m individual category, UUM won first and second place, while the 15 m individual men's category, the archery team won the first and third place.
The competition also saw athletes from UPM, UUM, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and various polytechnics competing against each other for the medals.
Male Individual (15m and 20m), Female Individual (15m and 20m) and Mixed Group (15m and 20m) were amongst the categories contested at the Competition.
