UUM CONTINUES TO ASCEND IN QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS 2020

Year-to-year, Â鶹ֱ²¥ (UUM) continues to display excellence internationally with its ascent to the 591-600 rung in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QSWUR) 2020 compared to the 601 to 650 band in the previous year.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani said UUM continued to show a consistent surge in the QSWUR since it was first listed in 2016.

"This success is the result of the hard work of all UUM denizens who are committed to upholding the university agenda and bringing it to the international arena.

"I would like to express my sincere congratulations and appreciation to all of you for continuing to be very committed to ensuring the success of the key agenda of the university," he said.

The Vice-Chancellor said in QSWUR, the percentage indicator of international students was the strongest indicator, while the facets of each faculty, employer's reputation and academic reputation indicated opportunities for improvement.

The Vice-Chancellor also expressed his hope that UUM's position in this ranking will continue to improve and that all UUM denizens will unite and assist the university in realising its aspiration.

QSWUR adopts six indicators in rating the global universities namely academic reputation, employer's reputation, citation per faculty member, ratio of faculty member with that of students, percentage of international students and percentage of international faculty member.
