UUM DENIZENS URGED TO SPEND THE NATIONAL CARING AID PRUDENTLY
UUM ONLINE: Following the PRIHATIN Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) announcement by the Prime Minister on Friday, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) denizens were reminded make full use of the aid received for the benefit of all.
UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani said various incentives were announced by the Government through PRIHATIN ESP in an effort to help ease the burden on the people as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak that have led to the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide since 18 March.
According to him, with the availability of the National Caring Aid (Bantuan Prihatin Nasional), namely the one-off cash contribution to students, the campus denizen should start spending wisely and not waste it.
He reminded students to utilize the aid received well and save it for the contingency plan as the MCO was extended until 14 April.
“After that, we do not know and are unable to anticipate what would happen next, so I urge all UUM campus community including students to plan your expenses accordingly.
"My heartfelt appreciation and gratitude go to the Government for being concerned about the situation and the fate of the people, the fact that the assistance provided will cover the various levels of the society and no one will be left out," he said when chairing the 2nd Disaster Management Committee Meeting via the WEBEX application, yesterday.
During the meeting, members discussed the latest developments concerning Government directives, Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
Additionally, surveillance reports were presented by the Director of the University Health Centre (PKU), the Director of Security Department, the Director of Student Affairs and the Director of Academic Affairs.
Also presented were reports from the Bursary, UUMIT, the Registrar’s Department, the Development and Maintenance Department (JPP) and the UUM Corporate Comm.
Also present at the meeting was Acting President of the Student Representative Council (MPP), Mr. Muhammad Nazmi Akmal Rahman.
