UUM Innovative Team Clinched Gold At The Educational Technology Counselling Innovation International Symposium

UUM INNOVATIVE TEAM CLINCHED GOLD AT THE EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY COUNSELLING INNOVATION INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) innovation team led by Prof Dr Noor Azniza Ishak from the School of Applied Psychology, Social Work and Policy (SAPSP) won the gold medal at the Educational Technology Counselling Innovation International Symposium in Brunei Darussalam recently.

She said the gold medal was obtained through the Psychosocial Training Manual for Volunteers (PsyCoT-M) project and the Family Therapy Consultation Module.

“The PsyCoT-M is designed to provide training for youth volunteers in carrying out community volunteer activities, while focusing more on the psychosocial preparation and support they need.
"The results of the three-year study showed that the module can contribute in terms of knowledge and training enhancement in developing the skills of Malaysian volunteers," he said.

Meanwhile, according to her the Family Therapy Consultation Module is a module designed to help parents and children in developing healthy behaviours using therapeutic approach.

In addition, UUM also won the third gold medal for participation in the construction of the i-Psychology network, a project that was done in collaboration with a group of researchers comprising staff from the Johor State Secretary’s Office.

All of these innovations have been evaluated by international evaluators from Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The symposium was officiated by Brunei Minister of Health, Dato' Seri Setia Dr Mohammad Isham Jaafar.
