UUM Ranked 251-300 In Best Universities In The Asian Region 2019
The ranking of Â鶹ֱ²¥ (UUM) in the Asian region continues to rise when it is ranked 251-300 in Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2019, leaping from the 301-350 band in the previous year.
THE Asia University Rankings utilises the same 13 performance indicators as the ones used by THE World University Rankings.
However, some of the indicators have been attuned to reflect the characteristics of Asian institutions to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparison, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.
These performance indicators are grouped into five areas - teaching (learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citation (the influence of research); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (transfer of knowledge).
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani said the talent and commitment of staff and students form the basis of UUM's success.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all for the hard work they have put in, elevating UUM’s name at the international arena.
"UUM should continue to improve its academic and scholarly quality so that the university remains active as a key player in global institutions of higher learning," he said.
The Asia University Rankings this year lists over 400 universities from 27 countries and territories, an increment of 350 universities from the past year.
