UUM SILATURAHIM AIDILFITRI CELEBRATION 2019 A YEARLY UUM TRADITION

The joyous and festive atmosphere of Aidilfitri, 20th of Shawal was evidently felt. The ties of ukhuwah of the UUM's big family emanated at the UUM Silaturahim Aidilfitri Celebration 2019 at UUM Mu'adzam Shah Hall.

The UUM Mu'adzam Shah Hall was flooded with people who did not want to miss the chance to meet their friends who they had not met for very long time while enjoying the festivities.

This event, a tradition carried out yearly served a variety of special delicacies at beautifully decorated stalls. Delicacies such as Bukhara rice, ketupat, rendang, satay, capati, nasi impit, spaghetti, koew teow, laksa, cakes and raya biscuits were on the menu.

Chairman of UUM Board of Directors, Prof. Dato' Dr. Sudin Haron described the celebration as a sign of victory in expressing gratitude after successfully performing the month-long fast during Ramadan.

He also expressed hope that the alumni would play bigger roles apart from encouraging UUM retirees to come back to UUM to participate in the programme which had been planned.

Meanwhile, UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani also said the spirit of teamwork could be seen in functions involving various centres of authority, associations and unions.

The celebration also witnessed the presentation of awards to the 10 best stalls.  The winning stalls were set up by the Sultanah Bahiyah Library, the Department of Academic Affairs, UUM Information Technology (UUMIT), the Registrar Department, Ghazali Shafie Graduate School of Government (GSGSG) - Student Development Office and Alumni of COLGIS (PPA UUM COLGIS).

And winning stalls also included those set up by the School of Education and Modern Languages (SEML), the University Health Centre, Centre for Testing, Measurement and Appraisal (CeTMA) - Research and Innovation Management Centre (RIMC) - Innovation and Commercialization Centre (ICC).
