UUM STUDENTS AWARDED FULL BPMB SCHOLARSHIPS AMOUNTING TO RM500,000
UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur - Ten Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ (UUM) students were awarded full scholarships from Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) yesterday.
The students, all of whom are from the asnaf community, were selected after a rigorous screening process at both UUM and BPMB levels.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, expressed gratitude to BPMB for sponsoring the scholarships to ten UUM students, which amounts to RM500,000 in total.
According to him, these students will receive comprehensive support throughout their studies, including a monthly allowance of RM600 each and a one-time laptop allowance worth RM2,500.
"I am grateful to BPMB for the generous scholarship sponsorship, and I hope that UUM students will make the most of it by excelling in both academic and extracurricular activities," he said.
Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir, the Chairman of the BPMB Award of Group Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Scholarship (BAGUS) 2024, officiated the scholarship presentation held at the KL Lexis Imperial Hotel.
All selected students began an induction programme in Tanjung Malim yesterday, which will run until 31 August.
Also present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed; Director of the Student Affairs Department (JHEP), Mr. Muhammad Iskandar Zulkarnain Muhammad Suhaimi and officers from the Student Services and Support Division, Student Affairs Department, UUM.
