Ho Chi Minh City – In a bid to further strengthen student development and mobility programmes in ASEAN, especially amongst countries in the Southeast Asian region, the Student Development Office, College of Arts and Sciences (PPA CAS) through the Student Innovation Association (INOVA) established a joint venture with the International Institute, University of Economics and Finance (UEF), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, recently.
The Dean of PPA CAS, Assoc. Prof Dr Bahtiar Mohamad said the cooperation was conducted through the organisation of the International Joint Seminar: Enhancing Student Development and Mobility in ASEAN at the UEF main campus.
"PPA CAS collaborates with UEF to implement student development and mobility programmes such as seminars, student exchange and various student related activities.
"Through this strategic alliance, UUM and UEF students are exposed to a variety of structured experiences in order to develop their potential, dynamism and concern for the ASEAN community," he said.
Meanwhile, Director of the International Institute, UEF, Dr Bruce Loc Do expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards UUM for coming up with the idea of organising a joint seminar which was thought to be very timely for the UEF internationalisation programme.

He further reiterated that UUM in particular and Malaysia in general had greater potential for UEF to send students on mobility programmes.
The UEF-UUM joint seminar involved the presentations of paperworks related to student development and mobility as well as the sharing of experience between both countries.
Amongst the presenters involved in the programme were the Deputy Dean of PPA CAS, Dr. Mohamad Farhan Mohd Mohsin and Dr. Shalini Munish from UEF and three UUM students, Mr. Muhammad Fadhil Sharudin, Nurshamira Alia Abdul Hamid and Ms. Awis Al Qarni Sheharuddin.
