Zakat Contributions Amounting To MYR100,000 Made By ETIQA To Be Utilized For The Development Of UUM And Its Students
Zakat contributions made by ETIQA Takaful Berhad amounting to MYR100,000 will be utilized for the development of the University, especially in helping UUM students who are in need.
UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Dr Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani expressed his gratitude and appreciation in receiving the zakat contributions from ETIQA Takaful Berhad.
He fervently believed that the contributions will definitely help the students in terms of education. Education will in turn assure a more secured future for students and their families and ultimately assist in the development of the country.
He said this at the ETIQA Takaful Berhad Zakat Mock Cheque Presentation Ceremony, where the mock cheque was presented by Mdm. Zetty Zabir, Head of Corporate Employees Benefits Department at the Visitors’ Lounge, recently.
He also reiterated that UUM was also working on exploring and enhancing the university waqf especially in the field of education, adding that many did not understand the benefits of waqf.
Meanwhile, according to Mdm. Zetty, ETIQA Takaful had had many activities including community service programmes and she also expressed keen interest in collaborating with UUM.
Also present was Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Lockton Insurance Brokers Sdn. Bhd., Mr Abdul Aziz Zainal Abidin.
